Poized to take Centre Stage

Poized to take Centre Stage

With Poize, I wanted to explore how jewellery is actually designed, and turn a few standards on their head to change the whole experience of wearing the pieces.

The cool, smooth lines and the sense of innovation take you back to a time when the world was swinging to a ragtime beat, but the range actually features a clever, time-saving clasp that's hidden in plain view.

The lock is an integral part of the design, but I also built it for the optimum in wearing ease, positioning it at the front to make it quicker to close. Jewellery engineering, smooth precious metals and a pioneering slide lock come together to make a clasp that's fuss and fiddle-free, but that adds to the piece rather than just serving it. So often the clasp mechanism is an afterthought, or tucked away out of sight. The Poize lock is what makes this collection so special to me.

Gemstones and beads are often chosen because they carry some deeply meaningful significance. With Poize, my choice of colourful beads is no less considered, but the focus is firmly placed on fun and positivity. I put colours and skilfully shaped beads together to create a piece that makes the wearer feel positive and confident, both in what they're wearing and in their outlook. Some collections seek to offer a sparkle or create a huge dazzle. Poize's coloured beads are chosen to make the wearer, and whoever they're standing next to, smile.

Poize is as versatile as it is colourful. Much of that adaptability comes from being able to wear the pieces together as a collection. Playful in nature, Poize pieces can be stacked and layered. There's an element of fun in how many different ways you can choose to wear it too. It works as a choker, a long statement necklace, or both.

Poize leverages the power of smooth, strong, solid gold lines with an architectural edge and an innovative sliding lock. It's inspired by the 1920s, and I wanted it to capture the positive energy of the Jazz Age, when the world came back to life after the First World War. Every Poize piece is fully customisable and made to order.

Poize-d For Success

Fine jewellery can still be effortlessly robust and steeped in engineering excellence. I think the Poize collection is what beauty looks like when class and craftsmanship come together. The unique sliding lock clasp is what makes the pieces stand out, rather than simply being the point of fastening.

Alongside the precious metals, I've added carefully selected, brightly coloured beads, chosen for their unusual shape and interesting feel. With every bead different from the next, the smooth predictability of the metal is juxtaposed by the irregularity of the beads.

As versatile and adaptable as the women who wear them, Poize pieces can be worn every day with joy, then treasured, loved and shared.

Community and the Modern Muse

Poize brings cool, smooth lines, innovation and a healthy dose of 1920s inspiration together in one fabulous range. I named the collection through a competition, which was won by the respected artist Lauren Baker. Lauren is known for bold and vibrant art that radiates strength and energy, which made her the perfect person to capture the essence, and the power, of the collection in one single word. I instinctively knew I could call on the Kimjoux community to name it, and the outcome didn't disappoint.

I could tell our community would connect with this collection, and asking them to help me name it made them part of the Poize story. It's a perfect name, it encapsulates exactly what I was trying to achieve in the design. It's just the right amount of edgy, and it shows the Kimjoux woman for all that she is: strong, confident, but never too busy to focus on life's finer detail.
