What Is Bespoke Jewellery?

Bespoke jewellery is for anyone who wants something truly their own, whether that's a fully open brief or a very specific design already in mind. It lets you build in personal details, an engraving, a monogram, a hand-picked gemstone, so the piece actually belongs to you rather than to a display case.

I think of bespoke fine jewellery as a way to put your own personality and character into the metal and the stones. It can mark your biggest milestones, and it's the kind of piece that ends up connecting you to the people who come after you too. Explore my bespoke service.

Why choose bespoke?

Commissioning a bespoke piece means creating something that's entirely your own, not something pulled off a shelf. Some clients commission for themselves, to mark an achievement, celebrate an occasion, or simply because they want to. Others are drawn to what personalisation actually adds, an engraving, a hand-picked stone, a metal tone that actually matches how they already dress.

Bespoke Jewellery With Kimjoux

It starts with a conversation. Email me, or book a virtual call with me directly.

Whether you know exactly what you want or have no idea where to start, I'm here to work through the options with you and get you to the right design.

From there, I'll put together a proposal with a few design options for you to look at.

At that point, we can talk through any changes or extra details you'd like. It's a properly collaborative process, and you can be as involved in it as you want to be.

I take in every detail and every bit of emotion you want built into the piece, and translate that into a design that's right for you. Once you approve it, it's handcrafted in the workshop. Standard lead time is 6 to 8 weeks from approval to finished piece.

The standard process

  • I'll send you the final design sketch to approve, and you can add comments or request changes at this stage.
  • The final cost is stated clearly in the proposal I send you.
  • Production starts 3 to 5 days after I receive your confirmation and deposit.
  • Standard lead time is 6 to 8 weeks to craft the piece.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have gemstones available for me to look at?

Yes. Get in touch with me to view them in person or over virtual call. I also keep a small selection of ethically sourced gemstones listed on the site, though they tend to sell quickly. Subscribe if you'd like to hear when more are added.

Where are you based?

London, UK, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Book a private consultation in person or virtually.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, I regularly work with clients across the US, Europe and Asia. Depending on the value of the piece, I use a secure, trackable courier the whole way, so you can follow it right up to delivery.

What diamond shape should I use?

Round is the most popular by far, but there's a much wider range of cuts worth considering than people expect, I've written about them in my guide to diamond cuts. Depending on what you're creating, I can work with almost any cut, and we can go through the options properly during your consultation.

How long does it take?

That depends on the design and what it actually calls for. Some gemstones are quick to source, others, particularly rarer ones, take longer. Every piece is handmade, and that craftsmanship takes real time to do properly, which is part of why the process isn't instant.

Can you find my perfect gemstone quickly?

Natural gemstones are all individual, and some are properly hard to find. I work with a trusted network of suppliers worldwide, but a rare stone can still take time to source correctly. I've found a matching pair of fancy-shape diamonds before, notoriously tricky to pair well, faster than expected, but honestly, it depends entirely on the specifics of what you're after.

Can you rush an order?

I'll always try to work to your timeframe, so let me know your deadline as soon as you confirm the commission. Depending on my current workload, I'll do what I can to meet it, and I'll tell you within 3 to 4 working days whether that deadline is realistic.

I hope this answers most of what you were wondering about bespoke jewellery, and the process behind making one. If you have more questions, get in touch, or if you're ready to start, book your consultation here.
